Optoplex Corporation, a leading supplier of innovative photonic fiber-optic components, modules and subsystems for dynamic wavelength management and signal conditioning, today announces that Optoplex introduces compact DWDM wavelength meter (Wavemeter) for fiber-optic networks, test instrumentation and fiber sensing industry.
Optoplex's mini wavelength meter is developed based on Optoplex's proven technology and OPM product platform. Leveraging on its in-house optical coating and tunable filter technologies coupled with a high-sensitivity InGaAs detector, Optoplex's mini wavelength meter can provide high-accuracy wavelength measurements over C-band and/or L-band wavelength ranges with a frequency accuracy <±2 GHz and a frequency repeatability <±0.5 GHz. The device can simultaneously measure wavelengths of multi-channels as dense as 25 GHz. The wavemeter is compact, measuring 120x90x18 mm and suitable for system integration with other test instruments. Data report is through a serial RS-232 or DPRAM interface.
Optoplex's mini wavelength meter is the only DWDM wavelength meter capable of measuring wavelengths of multi-lasers in DWDM networks over C-band and L-band wavelength range with a high accuracy better than that the wavelength locker can provide. So the wavelength accuracy of Optoplex's mini wavelength meter can be immediately used to monitor transmitter laser wavelengths to replace multiple wavelength lockers so as to reduce system cost. The other application area is fiber-optic sensing industry, from pressure to temperature to strain, such as fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensor analyzer.
