FREMONT,
CA, October 12, 2006 -- Optoplex Corporation, a leading
supplier of innovative photonic fiber-optic components,
modules and subsystems for dynamic wavelength management
and signal conditioning, today announces its optical
tunable filter (TF) family of products has passed
all tests related to the Optoplex qualification program
and Telcordia GR-468-CORE standard.
The 2-port tunable filter modules designed and assembled
by Optoplex in Fremont of California have undergone a
qualification program to ensure the long-term reliability
of the TF assembly based on the Telcordia GR-468-CORE
requirements. Mechanical Shock, Vibration, Fiber Integrity,
Temperature Cycling, Damp Heat, Low Temperature Storage,
High Temperature Storage and Thermal Shock tests have
all been completed. The qualification results show the
high mechanical integrity and environmental durability
of the tunable filter devices that further ensures the
manufacturability of Optoplex's optical tunable filter
products.
Optoplex's optical tunable filter modules are based on
its patented micro-optics design, a high-precision micro-actuator,
and its state-of-the-art thin-film optical coating. The
standard TF family supports 50- and 100-GHz channel spacing,
operating in C- or L-band wavelength range. The tunable
filter products are widely applied in fiber-optic communications
networks, including dynamic wavelength selection in DWDM
systems, signal demultiplexing for DWDMs, optical performance
monitoring, tunable optical noise filtering, noise suppression
for optical amplifiers, etc. The qualified tunable filters
feature an athermal design, wide tuning range, C- or L-band
coverage, flat and wide passband for up to 40 Gb/s signal,
low & uniform insertion loss, high channel isolation,
latching, hitless, and low power consumption.
