Fremont,
CA, March 2, 2006 Optoplex Corporation proudly
announces that its chief technology officer, Dr. Jay Hsieh,
has been invited as a speaker at one of this year's OFC/NFOEC
workshops, entitled Low-Cost ROADM:
Wavelength Switching vs Tunable Filters, to be held on
Monday, March 6 at the Anaheim Convention Center, Anaheim,
CA.
The
ROADM market is the fastest growing segment of the resurgent
optical networking market, as recently claimed by Infonetics
Research. This workshop will provide opportunities to
discuss and debate the latest reconfigurable
optical add/drop multiplexer (ROADM) technologies
which enable remote traffic provisioning at the wavelength
level in network nodes. These latest technologies allow
the network operators to increase system efficiency and
reduce operating expenses. Previously, ROADM deployment
has been limited due to its initial costs. Under the scope
of this workshop, industry experts will focus on two general
technology categories: 1) The relatively simple, high
performance, low cost, single-channel ROADM, based on
tunable filters as currently produced by Optoplex; and
2) the more comprehensive and expensive counterparts,
wavelength-selective switches.
We
welcome ROADM users such as system integrators and equipment
suppliers to attend the workshop and/or arrange individual
discussion session with Optoplex at nearby meeting suites
reserved by Optoplex.
