Fremont,
CA, January 20, 2006 Optoplex announced today
announced that it has successfully developed a hand-held
high resolution spectrometer
with a 200 pm wavelength resolution capability, establishing
it as a market leader in providing the next generation
of the interrogating instruments for agile fiber-optic
communication networks as well as the industrial process
monitoring tools.
Based
on micro-optics and thin-film filter technologies, Optoplex's
spectrometer offers
significant advantages over traditional spectrometers.
Leveraging its in-house optical coating and coupled with
an InGaAs high sensitivity single detector, Optoplexs
spectrometers
can scan a wide wavelength range of custom specification
in less than 1 second, measure the channel power and wavelength
within a >50 dB dynamic range, and reports the data
through a serial RS-232 or DPRAM interface, thus answering
the need for portable, plug-and-play instruments. The
data resolution can be as high as 2 GHz.
To
meet todays optical communication network management
and optical test and measurement demands, now Optoplex
offers the industrys most comprehensive range of
optical monitoring products, from ultra-dense DWDM, to
CWDM, to wide-band monitoring for a variety of industrial
applications. The flexibility of Optoplexs product
family enables the users to optimize the performance of
fiber-optic network systems and interrogators, while significantly
reducing their size, power consumption and cost.
With
the introduction of 25-GHz spectrometer,
Optoplex once again demonstrates its technical innovation
in designing new components to solve todays most
challenging optical communication, monitoring, and testing
problems
