Fremont,
CA, June 24, 2005 - OSA
is Optoplex Corporations latest product platform
as a scanning engines for optical spectral analyzers and
spectrometers.
Near-infrared
analysis of organic gases, liquids, and solids are widely
used tools to measure composition and purity of samples
for industrial process quality control and environmental
safety. However, traditional FT-NIR analyzers, designed
primarily for laboratory use, are too bulky and expensive
to deploy effectively on process lines and for point-of-use.
Wavelength dispersive element and detector array based
analyzers often compromise resolution and other aspects
of performance.
Leveraging
on a proprietary thin-film coated tunable filter (a non-dispersive
optical element), OSA
is compact and light weight, consumes less than 3 W, and
covers a wide wavelength range up to 400 nm in NIR, making
it suitable for a variety of hand-held, portable or bench-top
OSA / spectrometer.
Equipped with a state-of-the-art internal wavelength reference,
the device is capable of wavelength accuracy of 30 pm.
Without requiring an extensive InGaAs detector array,
OSA is a cost-effective alternative to the grating based
OSA / spectrometer engine. The device communicates with
a PC or an instrument motherboard via either RS-232 or
DPRAM interface.
